Although most of Charles Belden's (1887-1966) photographs were posed or staged, this is a real image of Jack Rhodes rescuing a calf during a blizzard and is indicitive of the hard cowboy way of life in Wyoming. The Rescue, c.1920-1930, is a dramatic, but empathetic, photograph that has been an inspiration to many cowboy artists. From the Charles Belden Collection, McCracken Research Library. Dimensions for this quality print are 24 1/2" W x 18 1/2" H
