"The Bucker and The Buckaroo" was one of Charles Russell's first bucking horse sculptures. Exhibited during Russell's lifetime, there was much confusion during that time as to the official name of the piece. It has also been called "The Sunfisher," a term used to describe the behavior of the horse when it twists its body into a crescent, and "The Weaver." Russell who could depict the contortions of a bucking horse with unmatched skill, claimed to have firsthand experience on the subject.
