Early in his career as a painter, Charles Russell (1864-1926) enjoyed every possible chance to depict a variety of western types. Visits to Joe Kipp's Trading Post in Browning, Montana, on the Blackfeet Reservation provided him with the opportunity to portray a number of western characters in a typical frontier setting. Joe Kipp's Trading Post , painted in 1898, is housed in the Whitney Gallery of Western Art. Dimensions for this quality print are 26" x 19 1/4".
